Welcome to Focus Education Asia. We are an education organisation based at the British International School, Phuket, Thailand (BIS).

Our mission is to advance the understanding of the Brain, Learning, Memory and Behaviour within school and family contexts. We offer programs that captivate and activate educators, students, parents, families and corporations. Our trainers work with educators, students and parents. We spend half our professional lives in classrooms. What other adult trainers do that!!

Outreach Programs

Programs presented at your site are called “Outreach Programs.’ Focus Education Asia consultants travel to you. You supply the conference venue. We present brain-based teaching and learning programs at your site. For more infomation, please download the "How to book an outreach program" here (PDF).

Residential (Phuket) Programs

Programs presented at the British International School, Phuket site are called Boarding at BIS Programs.’ You travel to Phuket and can choose accommodation in the boarding houses of the British International School or stay elsewhere on the island (at your own expense). We supply the conference venue, accommodation and meals. You bring an open mind and a passion for learning.

Short Programs

Focus Education Asia workshops and conferences are 1- 3 days in length. However, we also offer shorter sessions including Key Note addresses, conference break-out workshops, 2-hour seminars on Drugs, Sleep, Parenting, Creative Problem solving, Study skills, Career Planning, and Leadership.

John Joseph is a former teacher, a former university teacher-educator, tradesperson, businessman and trainer. He grew up in Adelaide South Australia and left school before completing his Year 10 studies to undertake training as an apprentice plasterer. After working in the family business for 11 years, he returned to formal education and graduated with a Masters Degree in Mathematics and Science Education. John is a leading authority on education and has worked with more than 300,000 delegates from more than 3,500 schools globally. John has a real passion for neuroeducation. His focus is on learning: how it happens; how to maximize it; how to inspire it in students; and practical strategies to enhance it. John is a parent of two young adults.

Dr Kery O’Neill BVSc DipEd
With a background that incorporates research science, veterinary surgery, education and management, Kery is well practiced in lifelong learning. With nearly 20 years’ experience teaching students of all ages, Kery has set the goals of her Professional Development programs to excite, engage and empower for learning and for life. She has both “talked the talk” and “walked the walk” of neuroeducation in her instructional and management practice. In her teaching positions, Kery has been responsible for developing learning programs that are linked to assessments that value skills and understanding within the context of high academic performance. Kery is the mother of three children who span the “Gen” categories and is currently living in the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia.

Dr John Langrehr PhD
John Langrehr has written over 25 books and 100 journal articles on helping all learners to think more effectively. Many of the books have been published in India, Malaysia, China, Mexico, Singapore, America, Canada (French), Saudi Arabia (Arabic), and Australia. John’s special focus has been on developing and evaluating creative and critical thinking. He has taught for many years at the Ohio State University and the University of South Australia. John also speaks at national and international thinking and gifted conferences.
